日本の小学校や中学校、高等学校などで外国語教育をサポートする外国人の英語教師、ALT（外国語指導助手）。伊予市でもALTの先生たちが英語の発音や出身国の文化などを生徒たちに教えています。
そんなALTの皆さんに、伊予市のおすすめについて投稿していただきました。

今回は、香港出身のMatthew（マット）こと、Yat Yeung（ヤッ・ヤン）先生のおすすめをご紹介します。

Introduction（自己紹介）

Hello Everyone! My name is Matt, an ALT based in the Futami area of Iyo City. Although I represent Australia as an ALT, my roots are from Hong Kong. I am 22 years old this year. While I am still young, I would like to gain as much teaching experience as I can during my time in Japan as an ALT. In the future, I would like to be an elementary school teacher based in Australia. My hobbies include building plastic models (Gundam), playing video games with my friends and doing chores. Nice to meet you!

はじめまして、双海町担当のALTのマットと申します。オーストラリアから来たけど、出身は香港です。今年で22歳です。まだ若いから、色々教える経験をしたいと思います。将来はオーストラリアで、未来の子どもたちのために、尊敬できる小学校の先生になりたいです！自由時間にはよくプラモデル（特にガンダム）を作ったり、友達とゲームをしたり、家事をしています。よろしくお願いします！

Before coming to Japan, I always thought to myself, “what kind of place is Futami?”. I nervously used Google Maps to examine the area I will be living in, and I found… nothing?! I couldn’t find any supermarkets, nor several different kinds of restaurants! This is the typical countryside of Japan! However, I found two locations that caught my interest. One was Futami Seaside Park, and the other was Futami Wind Interaction Park. 

日本に来る前に、「双海町はどんな場所かな？」と考えました。不安になりながら私はグーグルマップでこれから私が住む双海町を調べて、びっくりしました。何も…ないです！スーパーとか、色んなレストランとか、全部グーグルマップで見えないです！本当に日本の田舎だと思いました。しかし、二つの面白い場所を見つけました。双海シーサイド公園と私の大好きな「ふたみ潮風ふれあい公園」です。

On Google Maps, the translation between English and Japanese isn’t quite right. The English word for [Futami Wind Interaction Park] sounds like a theme park or some science museum. However, when September of 2024 came, I finally got to visit this place for the first time. Opened in 1995, Futami Wind Interaction Park is an ideal place to camp, play sports and enjoy beautiful views of the Seto Inland Sea. 

グーグルマップでふたみ潮風ふれあい公園は英語で”Futami Sea Wind Interaction Park”と書いてありました。最初はふたみ潮風ふれあい公園がテーマパークのような場所だと思いました。令和６年度の９月に「夕焼け村」というイベントに行った時、初めてふたみ潮風ふれあい公園に行きました。平成７年にオープンしたふたみ潮風ふれあい公園は、キャンプができたりスポーツができたり、自然観察もできます。

I think that Futami Wind Interaction Park is an ideal place for camping, as mentioned before. There are 3 main reasons. First, the view of the Seto Inland Sea from up here is very very beautiful. You are able to see not just the Seto Inland Sea, but also several different islands from other prefectures like Yamaguchi. This sort of view is iconic to the Futami area. 

ふたみ潮風ふれあい公園は理想のキャンプサイトだと思います。理由は三つあります。一つ目は、綺麗な景色を眺めることができます。ふたみ潮風ふれあい公園から瀬戸内海が見えて、山口県の様々な島も見えます。この景色は双海町の有名な特徴だと思います。

Secondly, mainly for children, there is an enormous slide! The very long and slightly bumpy slide is always enjoyable, no matter how many times you ride it. Surrounding the slide, the playground offers many other play equipment and fun activities to do. For example, tunnels, differently shaped monkey bars and a very fun and thrilling rope slide. While camping, I am sure that the children will definitely have fun here.  

二つ目は、特に子供のために、大きいプレイグラウンドがあります。プレイグラウンドには長くて少しでこぼこした滑り台があり、何回乗っても楽しいと思います。滑り台の周りには色々な遊具もあります。例えばロープスライドとか、トンネルとか、色々な形の雲梯もあります。子供たちは間違いなく楽しいと思いますね。

Finally, I think the Futami Wind Interaction Park has such diverse facilities, acting as a multifunctional place. This place doesn’t simply just acts as a campsite, but also has up to 4 tennis courts (with rackets available for borrowing), a table tennis table inside the lodge (also with rackets available for borrowing), as well as a fully functional and big Kitchen available for use! 

三つ目は、ふたみ潮風ふれあい公園は多目的な場所だと思います。ここはキャンプサイトだけじゃなくて、テニスコートもあるし、ロッジの中に卓球台もあるし、キッチンもあるから便利だと思います。そしてスポーツの道具もスタッフから借りられます。

This is my favorite place in Japan, the beautiful Futami Wind Interaction Park. I will never forget about this place, and will always come back whenever I get the chance.

いつも綺麗なふたみ潮風ふれあい公園は、日本で僕が一番好きな場所です。ふたみ潮風ふれあい公園は絶対に忘れない場所だと思います。
